ANTHRAX To Tour Japan, Australia In April

February 10, 2004

ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian has posted the following message on the band's official web site (as part of his regular online column, dubbed "Alpha Mail"):

"[Fiancée] Pearl and I went to our friends Mia and Dave's wedding. It was a killer wedding. It was a rock wedding. Mia's dad is Steven Tyler and Dave plays drums in PAPA ROACH. Great party. Steven and Dav jammed with the band on [AEROSMITH's] 'Sweet Emotion'. Much luck and love to the newlyweds.

"For a band that is supposedly on a short 'break' right now until the tour starts again in April, or earlier, we sure are busy. The DVD/CD from the Metro in Chicago is coming together. Editing, mixing, packaging and of course art. Alex Ross is working on the cover. I can't wait to see what he comes up with this time. How fucking cool is it that Alex Ross is doing another cover for us? I'm sure [webmaster]Brent will kick ass again putting the whole thing together. The DVD is being mixed in 5.:1 so all you surround sound nerds like me are stoked. I've been working with my friend Kenny Brown editing my personal section for the DVD. Kenny is a war photographer for the BBC. He's got stories. We put together Rob's as well. It's called 'Fun With Rob' and boy is it.

"The 'Metallum Maximum Aeturnum' recordings are almost done. I think John has a few vocals to finish and then Scrap 60 can mix the shit out of it. Rob is in England right now producing the new CRADLE OF FILTH so I guess 'Metallum Maximum Aeturnum' will be finished when he gets back. I can't wait to hear these old tunes revisited. Especially the 'Fistful Of Metal' and 'Spreading The Disease' stuff, because I never liked the mixes on those records. 'What Doesn't Die' [video] is being cut while I write. I should see the first edit in a few days.

"There's so much more stuff in the works that I'm chomping at the bit to talk about but I don't want to jinx anything by opening my big mouth to soon. I will confirm to all you email pals that we are coming to Japan and Australia in April. That's all I've got. The dates and support acts will be up on the site any second. I am excited to be coming back to Australia. It's been 8 long years. I can't fucking wait. I know you street-teamers down there are going to kick ass and get the word out. C'mon out and have fun with us you sick Aussie fucks. VB's for everyone!!!!! I'm hoping we get to Middle Earth, I mean NZ as well. We are all pushing really hard to make it happen. I spent two weeks in Wanaka snowboarding a few years ago and I want to come back!"
